Born in Eskisehir in 1947, Sadrettin Savas enjoyed carving meerschaum figures and drawing caricatures as a child. With the aid of his schoolteachers he began working with ceramics. Maintaining his childhood love of caricatures, Savas started creating "ceramic caricatures" largely inspired by the many colorful tradesmen found in the Ottoman Empire. Sadrettin, who also makes short films, currently resides and works in Kaleici, Antalya. His ceramic caricatures can only be found in the Inan-Suna Kirac Antalya Kaleici Museum in Ankara and the Kalkan Art Home.
