Simitçi Mıstık
(Mustafa Dağtekin 1878-1942)

His father Hasan Rıdvanoğulları and his wife Fatma imigrated from Egypt and settled in Old Town (Kaleiçi) in 1862.
In 1878, Simitçi Mıstık was born in a house close to Yivli Minaret which is in the boarders of a museum today, due to expropriation. He opened the first bakery of ''simit'' and made everyone love his simits and a cane-like simit called ''koşma'' in his 3 bakeries. One of the well-known figures of his time, Simitçi Mıstık, was the eponym of one of the oldest families in Antalya under the name Simitçi Mıstık Family. His descendants, about 200 people still live in Antalya. This place has been named Simitçi Mıstık to live his memory.
